The European Meeting Point: Energy for Development 2007 edition counted with 189 participants, dispersed among 16 thematic or plenary sessions both in the Polytechnic Institute of Beja and EDIA headquarters. Results from 12 Structural Funds projects, 4 Intelligent Energy projects, one FP5 and 9 FP6 projects, 20 academic works, 3 governmentally funded projects, 16 private investments were presented along with 5 institutional addresses. The proposed case-studies or project results involved more than 100 institutions. 15 EU member-states have been represented as well as 10 third countries. Currently, the e-book is under preparation to include the extended abstracts. The delivered presentations have been collected. Both, the eBook and the presentations will be on-line after authors authorization as well as for the photos taken during the event. Through this email the “European Meeting Point: Energy for Development 2007” organisers are also gratefully acknowledging the interest and presence of those whom participated and contributed to the event. ON THE EUROPEAN MEETING POINT New energy realities require adequate partnership for success in both, market and research worlds. This event is an opportunity to disseminate and promote recent developments under a multidisciplinary environment where ventures are exchanged and new partnerships are started. This European Meeting Point offers the stage to those who wish to present contributions for new research, technology and innovation projects. Emerging technologies, new financing tools, local strategies hosting pilot applications, entrepreneurial projects, are examples of potential contributions. Success in new energy worlds combines technology, innovation and development strategies under a multi-disciplinary partnership environment – this event is the meeting point for energy technology, innovation and market key actors to meet success partnership. Promoters This event is promoted by RGESD, Research Group on Energy and Sustainable Development of IDMEC – Instituto Superior Técnico, and the Polytechnic Institute of Beja.
